The main character of the manga. He goes one day from being a

normal every day kid who can see ghosts, to attacked by a hollow.

During this battle, when he is about to parish, a new shinsingami he

has just recently met descideds to transfer half of her energy into him.

Unfortunately, due to his spiritual awareness already, the moment her

sword touches his soul, he takes virtually all of her power, transforming

him into a shinigami. After this, he is given the role of a shinigami to

protect those who are being attacked by hollows, which usually means

protecting/fighting against people he already knows. Over a short period

of time, Ichigo has shown that he has been able to do many things that no

human should be able to do, such as fight at the level he does, as well as

be able to see spiritual aura in a physical form (which allows him to locate

people by sensing there aura, even if it is very weak). He is slowly begining

to learn how to use and regulate his spiritual power.

She is the first real Shinigami that Ichigo ever encountered, and to save both Ichigo and herself she transfered her Shinigami powers to him. She currently is still working for soul society, but as Ichigo's Shinigami teacher. She hides herself in her human form from Hollows until her strength returns - all the while coaching Ichigo and helping him with his Soul Society missions. She aslo puts up a wonderful facade around her class mates, and is still trying to adapt and understand many things about the human world. 

Inoue Orihime
One of Ichigo's classmates who has a very big crush on him,

but is afraid to act on it. She lost her brother in a car accident

many years ago, and he came back as a hollow to eat her soul.

Just before he did it, he realized that this would not make her

happy and that what he was doing was wrong and so he

"cleansed himself" by making himself dissapear. After being in

contact with Ichigo's shinigami form, her spiritual power was awakened.

Kon
Kon is a modified soul that was created by soul society to fight hollows. In creating him, they gave him more strength than they would normally, so when he is free he can do amazing things. By mistake on the Uraha shop, he is inserted into Ichigo's body while Ichigo takes his Shinigami form. During this period he explores the human world, by impressing people and showing off his ability. Once it is realize what has happend, he is tracked down and removed from Ichigo's body and paced in the body of a teddy bear. After this he began to idolize Rukia and he sometimes fills in for Ichigo when Ichigo must leave his body to fulfill his Shinigami duties.

Ishida Uuryu
He is the last surviving quincy, and has a deep seeded hatred

for all Shinigami because his sensei died fighting hollows when

the Shinigami were late to show up. He challenges Ichigo by

putting out hollow bait and thus attracting alot of hollows,

so much that they couldnt not handle them all. Ishida and Ichigo

then team up to beat the hollows and save the city.

Arisawa Tatsuki
This is Ichigo's class mate and Orihime's best friend. Her and Ichigo grew up together, meeting in a karate class when they were 4. She is very strong for a girl and over protective of Orihime. She does not like the normal things girls seem to like such as makeup and boys but is a tomboy who is rough on the edges.
Kurosaki Isshin

The father of the Kurosaki family, he is a widower, who is the neighborhood doctor, and the only one in their family who can't see ghosts at all. He is very overprotective of Ichigo (As he makes him come in every night by 7:00 pm) and is very strict on the rules. He uses physical violence to tend to matters that he is not very good at talking about, and wishes his son would communicate more with him.

Kurosaki Masaki

             This is Ichigo's mother who died 6 years ago. She was the most wonderful beautiful woman Ichigo has ever seen and he loved her very much. She died trying to protect him from getting killed - thus proving her love for him. She is near to the hearts of the whole Kurosaki family, and they visit her grave on the day she died every year in her memory.

Kurosaki Yuzu

 Ichigo's other younger sister who looks up to him and envies that he can see ghosts so well. She wants to some day be able to see ghosts as well as he can. She feels like its her responsibility to help maintain the family since their mother died.

Kurosaki Karin

             Ichigo's little sister who, although she can see ghosts (in a blurred way), claims she doesnt believe in them - but if the opprotunity presents itself, she will try to make money off of her ability.


Sado Yasutora (CHAD)
Chad is Ichigo's very large friend, who seems to be incredibly strong. He is able to

even hold a steel beam on his back, as well as endure being hit by a car and many

other accidents. He has a parakeet that has a goul's soul in it as well, and this

parakeet brings about the death of every one of its owners. After coming in contact with

Ichigo's shinigami form, his spiritual powers were awakened and he was able to defeat a hollow.

Urahara Kisuke
This is the manager of the Uraha shop, who has an unshaven face and wears a beach hat most of the time. He cares alot about the reputation of the shop and tries his best to provide his costomers with the products that they want. When he realizes the mistake he made in giving Rukia a mod soul, he descides he will fix the problem himself. Ayame

One of the six forming the Shun Shun Rikka (Shield of 6 Dancing Flowers), Ayame is a timid spirit (I'm assuming she's timid since she doesn't talk at all) that takes part in Orihime's second technique, where a shield is form to "repel inner damage," or in everyday terms, to heal; it can reverse damage that has already been done. The incantation for this is "Souten Kishun, (Return Shield of the Heavenly Duo) I Repel Thee," but later this can be done without any chant. Ayame can be distinguished as the tiny (they're all tiny) girl with a flowered covering over her head. 		Jinta, Hanakari

This young, cocky, and rude child is employed at Urahara Shop, but spends most of his time dreaming of being a famous baseball player. While his primary job is sweeping, he makes an occupation out of beating up Ururu, who is three years older than him and he reveals to her that she is below him on a social level. Even though he acts tough when Ururu tells him that Tessai will be angry if the sweeping in unfinished, Jinta is just as scared of the tall man as his older counterpart. He is very critical about Ururu, especially when she accidentally sold Rukia poor goods which contained the under pod mod soul now known as Kon. He berates her about her inability to read and then tugs on her "cockroach like bangs" until she cries. When they do get along though, they enjoy watching Ghost Bust and even visited the "Emergency Live Broadcast" at the abandoned hospital.
The Shun Shun Rikka is a unique soul power utilized by Orihime initially to defeat the hollow that killed Tatsuki. This specific soul power is comprised of three teams in the 6 person group, each of which has their own special power. The first group, which consists of Hinagiku, Baigon, and Lily create an outer shield to repel enemy attacks away from the user. This deflected the hollows attack at school and pushed back Seimichio in the Dangai. The next team of Shonou and Ayame materialize an inner shield which sole purpose is to repel damage that has already been received. These two are responsible for bringing Tatsuki back from the dead, reattaching Jidanbou's arm in Soul Society after Ichimaru severed it, and to heal Tsubaki after being carelessly wounded by Kamaitachi Ziroubou. The last team is a one man team of Tsubaki, the scarfed warrior, who's power is to repel the inner shield inside an enemy, thus splitting him down the middle. He used this against the hollow at Karakura High School and killed it instantly. He is currently injured and is healing slowly, but is always up for the task of fighting.

Ririn, while in her gigai form, is small girl with short blonde hair wearing a pink fur coat, a purple bird-shaped cape, and red boots. When not in her gigai, she inhabits an anthropomorphic bird plushie. Her special ability is the creation of illusions. She acts as the leader of the trio, and has a fondness for games. She is partnered with Ichigo Kurosaki. At first she disliked Ichigo due to their conflicting personalities, but now she's rather infatuated with him, becoming extremely jealous of Rukia Kuchiki's close relationship with Ichigo. She can be petty and arrogant at times, but she shows real concern for her friends. She often looks down on Kon as inferior, which causes frequent arguments between the two.

Also known as Claude or Cloud, Kuroud is a bespectacled man with a mustache and two-tone hair color (black to the right, yellow to the left). He wears a gray top hat, multi-colored suit and tie, as well as dark brown boots, giving him an appearance similar to a circus manager. His plushie body is a rabbit-esque purse. He is partnered with Orihime Inoue. He has the ability to shapeshift, and can replicate the abilities of others when he does so (although he can't replicate the power levels of said abilities). He is somewhat cowardly and is terrified of snakes. His longwindedness and actions often provide comic relief. He is also somewhat perverted, like Kon, or at the very least is thankful for the opportunity to be held by attractive women (being a purse helps in this regard). Rukia seems to like him because he resembles Chappy the Rabbit in his stuffed animal form.

More commonly known as Nova, Noba is a young man in a fur coat with a shield on his back and a zippered mask, with a slim build, red hair, and aqua eyes. He inhabits an anthropomorphic turtle plushie when out of his gigai. He's very quiet, rarely speaking more than a few words and also rather shy, zipping up his hood when he blushes. He is partnered with Yasutora Sado, who is equally quiet. He has the power to teleport himself and others to most any location he's been to. He can also use his spiritual sense to teleport to the location of those with spiritual powers. Additionally, he can create wormholes to redirect ranged attacks, both physical and energy based, back at the enemy. He can also absorb fire. When he is in his plushie, his teleportation range is limited to about two meters.
